For thousands of years, people didn’t throw clothes away—they repaired them. They adjusted them. They took in seams, let them out, replaced buttons, patched holes, and made garments last as long as possible. Alterations were once an everyday skill, passed down from generation to generation.


But somewhere along the way, the art of alterations faded into the background. Fast fashion took over. Clothes became cheaper, trends moved faster, and it started to feel easier to replace something than to fix it.
